Cloud Adoptions Practices & Priorities in the Chinese Financial Sector Survey Report

The Cloud Adoptions Practices & Priorities in the Chinese Financial Sector Survey Report which was jointly conducted with our partner, Ernst & Young China was released in October. The purpose of the survey is to raise awareness around cloud service adoption and also to provide insights into how finance, government, insurance and security decision makers take action in their organisation within China. The report also aims to provide a clearer picture of cloud adoption and to identify potential gaps that are holding back the adoption of cloud within the FSI sector in China.

CSA Government Cybersecurity Forum, 12th October, Singapore

The Inaugural CSA Government Cybersecurity Forum was held as an key event of interest at the Inaugural Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW). Singapore Prime Minister (PM)  Lee Hsien Loong introduced Singapore's new cybersecurity strategy at SICW  where Singapore wants to play a global leading role in creating a safer cyberspace and developing a vibrant cybersecurity ecosystem through strengthening international partnerships. 

This year’s event featured keynote presentations by:

• Yum Shoen Yih, Deputy Director  for Government Cybersecurity Consultancy in the Critical Information Infrastructure Division covering David Koh, Chief Executive for Cyber Security Agency (CSA) of Singapore on “Cybersecurity Strategies for Singapore Enterprise"
• Anil Karmel, Co-chair of Cloud Security WG, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on “ Emerging Approaches in a Cloud-Connected Enterprise: Containers, Microservices and Cloud Security”
  
• ​Yale Li, Security Advisor, Institute of Information Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, on "Searchable Encryption As a Service"
• Koji Nakao, Executive Director, National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) of Japan on "National Cybersecurity Strategy & Related Projects in Japan"
• Dr. Adisak Srinakarin, Executive Vice President, Electronic Government Agency (EGA) of Thailand on ”Cloud, Cyber Security and Digital Government Transformation in Thailand“

CSA Greater China Region Summit, 25th October, Beijing China

The 6th CSA Greater China Region (GCR) Summit was held on 25 October 2016 where we saw over 1000 attendees. Mao Zuokui Director of Cyberspace Administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, Roman Sheredin Deputy Director of the Federal Communications Agency of Russia, Moctar Yedaly Head of Information Society Division of AUC and Zhang Yaqin CEO of Baidu were among the keynote speakers at the Summit.

​​APAC Volunteer Leadeship Spotlight

Dr. Dejia Wang, Chairman, CSA Suzhou Chapter

Dr. Dejia Wang is a highly appreciated speaker and leader in the field of big data and cloud security, who invented TSC (Time-Space-Code, a blockchain authentication mechanism). He is a Senior Member of Association for Computing Machinery, who won the honor of "Leader 2030" new technical figures held by the《Economic Observer newspaper》in 2014.

Dr. Wang is the founder of PAYEGIS (通付盾), a leading Chinese financial security technology company, and has been the Chairman and CEO since 2011. He founded PAYEGIS with the singular vision of empowering consumers and consumer-facing businesses to win the war against mobile, account and transaction fraud. He gained more than a decade of experience working with consumer and transaction data and generating business insights out of big data. From 2001 until 2006, he worked at the leading CRM company Siebel Systems (acquired by Oracle), where he served in various engineering and management positions in US. From 2006 until 2011, he held senior architect and director level positions at Analytics and Security related technology startups in Silicon Valley: TrueDemand (acquired by Acosta), PlaySpan (acquired by VISA) and M-Factor (acquired by DemandTec, then by IBM). 

Dr. Wang received PhD in Mathematics from University of Wisconsin-Madison, MS in Computability Theory from Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and BSs in Probability and Statistics from University of Science and Technology of China. Dr. Wang has dozens of patents pertaining to data insight, and mobile, account and cloud security technologies.
