APAC Research Advisory Council (APRAC)
The APAC region represents a vibrant and burgeoning business ecosystem that spans markets with vastly varying degrees of development, regulatory and legal frameworks, consumer sophistication and needs. Unlike in the Western Hemisphere, ‘homogeneous’ is likely the last adjective one would use to describe the region. Yet it is the norm for many organizations in the region to conduct business across multiple borders, in a bid to survive or expand.
The dynamic nature of cross-border delivery of businesses and offerings in this region represents unique challenges for the cloud, in terms of both security and the myriad of technologies that interacts with the cloud. And to cater to the specific and differing needs of individual markets, while maintaining some level of homogeneity at the business level is one of the key goals, as well as key challenges for organizations with a regional presence.
The CSA recognizes the importance and potential business benefits that can be brought to bear if these challenges and gaps in the region can be identified, deliberated upon, and innovatively addressed. CSA also recognizes that to tackle region-specific issues and drive APAC-specific research, we need to tap upon brilliant minds, talents and expertise located in, and familiar with the region.

Mission |
It is with this impetus that CSA has decided to embark on convening a CSA APAC Research Advisory Council (CSA APRAC), with the mission to:
Enhance overall capabilities in cloud security for CSA APAC members, through collaboratively addressing APAC-specific gaps, challenges and problem statements; and developing and maintaining a vibrant APAC-driven research portfolio. An APRAC will be key to ensuring relevance, sense of ownership and motivated adoption of the resulting research artifacts by key stakeholders in the region. Beyond regional adoption, resulting research artifacts also serves a larger purpose through helping CSA international members better understand the region to make inroads into this vibrant market. |
Purpose |
The purpose of the CSA APRAC is to provide high level advisory, guidance, directions, ideas to CSA APAC-driven research initiatives (e.g. Working Groups, projects, events, outreach) with a collective APAC voice.
