Meeting with TanoSecure (Taiwan)

CSA APAC team visited TanoSecure office in Taipei. Aloysius Cheang, Executive Vice President APAC, of CSA presented the CSA Executive Member certification to Keng Lee, Chief Operation Officer of TanoSecure. The team discussed collaboration areas in the second half of 2016 and plans moving forward for future CSA research efforts.

Mobile Application Security Testing Release Its White Paper

The Mobile Application Security Testing (MAST) Initiative is a research which aims to help organizations and individuals reduce the possible risk exposures and security threat in using mobile applications. MAST aims define a framework for secure mobile application development, achieving privacy and security by design. Implementation of MAST will result in clearly articulated recommendations and best practices in the use of mobile applications.

CSA CXO Dinner, 11th July, Taipei

CSA CXO Dinner was held at Shangri La, Taipei, on the 11th of July, 2016. CXOs from both the public and private sectors were in attendance. Tanosecure was the exclusive sponsor for the event. During the event, Keng Lee, COO of Tanosecure presented the research outcome of our CSA Mobile Application Security Testing Initiative White Paper. Eric Wang, Chief Advisor of Tanosecure presented what are the threats around IoT and how IoT can be secured.

CSA Taiwan Summit, 12th July, Taipei

CSA Taiwan hosted its 4th annual Taiwan Summit at the NTU on 12th July 2016. This year's Summit theme was based on CSA's research together with the current hot issues in the industry such as cloud security services, privacy, IoT security, smart cities and app security, data analytics and mobile app vetting. International subject matter experts presented at the Summit. The Summit was well attended by over 500 attendees.

CSA CXO Luncheon, 14th July, Hong Kong

CSA CXO Luncheon was held at Conrad, Hong Kong, on the 14th of July, 2016. CXOs from both the public and private sectors were in attendance. The sponsors for the luncheon were Trend Micro and Intralinks. During the event, Tony Lee, Consultant of Trend Micro shared with audience "Say NO to Ransomware". Gary Lau, Senior Sales Engineer, North Asia of Intralinks shared with us "Protecting Content In Motion".

CSA Chennai Summit, 29th July, Chennai, India

The Chennai Chapter also conducted its inaugural CSA Chennai summit on 29th July 2016 at The Rain Tree Hotel, Chennai. Industry experts shared their valuable experience and insight on Data Privacy on Cloud, Top Threats, Identity Management on cloud and various other subject matter.

Innovating Care Asia Pacific 2016, 20th - 21st July, Singapore

The Innovating Care Asia Pacific 2016 (ICAP) conference brings together government leaders, healthcare stakeholders and industry players to share ideas, lessons and innovations in order to turn challenges into opportunities for improving the health of people throughout the region as healthcare systems transition from conventional medical and healthcare paradigms towards preventive wellness (Wellcare) models.

ISC² Security Congress, 25th - 26th July, Bangkok, Thailand

ISC² hosted Security Congress APAC in Bangkok on 25th- 26th July. It was well attended by cybersecurity experts and industry thought leaders. Cloud Security Alliance was the supporting organisation where Anthony Lim, APAC Market Strategy Director Cloud Security Alliance, presented on “Cloud Security - Are You Forgetting Something?”.

Featured chapter of the month

Chennai Chapter

Newly established in 2016, the Chennai Chapter’s mission is to spread awareness about the education on cloud computing by partnering with all the Universities in Tamil Nadu and conduct training on CCSK, and at the same time promote CSA. Regular knowledge sharing sessions are conducted by the chapter to help the security community to get constant updates on the latest technology, research and best practices from CSA and around the world. The Chennai Chapter is led by Ms. Anuradha Shyam and Mr. Madhan Mohan.

Anuradha Shyam

Ms. Anuradha Shyam is the chairman of the CSA Chennai Chapter. A techno-savvy with comprehensive experience in formulating robust Information Security strategies coupled with expertise in managing and leading teams for running successful process operations and developing Business Continuity Plans, Procedures, and Service Standards for Business Excellence. Ms. Shyam also has an impregnable background on Risk Management, Cloud Security, Data security governance and compliance, privacy and digital forensics.
