About CSA |
Innovation has transformed modern society, whether that represents the development of new hardware dramatically enhancing our ability to communicate, or a new web service that lets professionals interact with their peers. These, among many others represent success stories that have literally changed the lives of millions, upon millions of people around the world.
However, for every success story, there are many new start-up organizations that sadly are not successful. Dependent on the source, new start-ups may only have an 8% chance of success. There are of course many reasons for this, which in many cases may not be because the technology itself had no merit. Indeed, many of the household names in the technology industry were not first movers in their sector, but learnt from the mistakes of preceding entrepreneurs to develop something the market were either ready for, or actually wanted. Such foresight is either luck, or genius, but more often is a combination of the two. One thing is very clear however, that new start-up ventures need support and guidance to maximize their chances of success. This principle, and based upon the numerous requests for support the management team have received has led to the development of the Cloud Security Alliance Innovation Initiative. Established as a working group within the CSA, the Innovation Initiative (CSA II) has been created for the purpose of fostering technology innovation. The mission of the initiative is to;
The CSA II is a strategic partnership program within the CSA created to foster cutting edge innovation in Cloud Computing and Cybersecurity Industry. It is particularly relevant in the context of Asia Pacific (APAC) where cloud as a disruptive force offers the opportunity for APAC to take the lead in innovating for the future. |

Why Us? |
The CSA APAC Advantage
For years, many countries in the Asia Pacific region have been trying to create their own Silicon Valley environment. Many countries have attempted, but none of them quite succeeded. This made us think hard – what if we have a virtual Silicon Valley? what if the whole Asia Pacific region acts as a virtual Silicon Valley? This allows us to play on strong points of every country in this region, advance ourselves as a whole and make ourselves known to the world as one united people! |
